Biography

Kristin Freese grew up in the small town of Glasgow, Mo. Her parents, aside from running the local funeral home and teaching history, owned a small antique store and restored old homes as a hobby. It was on these job sites and in the antique store workshop that Kristin discovered her love of quality craft and design.

Throughout elementary and high school she defined herself as an artist by winning numerous painting and drawing competitions. In college she studied art and design abroad in Italy and eventually received her Bachelors Degree for interior design at Kansas University 2005. Freese also achieved an emphasis in Architecture from KU and went on to work as an architect assistant at Millennium Design Build at the Lake of the Ozarks, MO. Her last solo art show, Bare, exhibited during Kansas City's 'First Friday's' Art Festivals, April 2006. Currently Freese is obtaining a Graduate degree in industrial design at the University of the Arts. Lately her focus has been on eye-tracking, social design and sustainability. She hopes to eventually work for a non-profit organization improving the quality of life for people and the planet.

UV Clean

'UV Clean' was the solution to a problem purposed during Charrette 2009 entitled, 'Swing Design: Money Exchange.'

Water Bake Sale

There is a worldwide water crisis. Many people do not have access to safe clean drinking water. Yet, it only costs $1000 to install a fresh water well in these areas.
