Biography

I’m a dramatist, and likewise, my design process is a drama. Getting to know the project is the same as introducing the characters. “Who are the characters?” you ask. That’s easy: Stakeholders, Needs, The dreaded “Push/Pull,” and of course “the Problem.”

The problem - that’s place where challenges are realized. I like to think of it as the rising action, A.K.A the place where you get frustrated, anxious, and beaten. Yeah, I know, it’s glamourous. Onward with the drama.

The climax - not unlike a sexual climax - is where I find the solution. Oddly, it’s been there the whole time, right in front of me. Yes, solutions are tricky things. When I finally embrace this solution my conflicts begin to fall apart. Where in I find resolution.

And, in conclusion I present my findings to the client, completing the dénoument. That is — where all the loose knots are resolved. Of course, don’t expect your solution to last forever or be the the end of the problem; there is always a sequel just around the corner.
