B.S. Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Biography
Sherika Wynter, a resident of Port Chester, NY, is a 2007 graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, Sherika desired to take her training to the next level. She worked as a Project Manager in the field of acoustical engineering for HVAC systems before she realized that she needed to pursue her dream to become a designer. This yearning birthed her interest to attend graduate school for industrial design. Sherika have always been interested in the aesthetics and mindset behind the products we, as a society, produce.
While at The University of The Arts, she then realized that design is
more than just products, it is more than just aesthetics; it is a way of life.
Design should be user-centered, should be value added. Her focus now is on
user-centered design and design management. Sherika has only just grazed the surface of the design realm but her passion is strong enough to motivate her to dig as deep as possible to unearth the “treasures” which lie therein.
